Theoretical weight calculation formula of various steels

Theoretical weight calculation formula of various steels (full version)

Angle steel: weight per meter=0.00785*(side width+side width-side thickness)*side thickness
Round steel: weight per meter=0.00617*diameter*diameter (rebar and round steel are the same)
Flat steel: weight per meter=0.00785* Thickness * side width
Pipe: weight per meter = 0.0246615 * wall thickness * (outer diameter – wall thickness)
plate: weight per meter = 7.85 * thickness
Brass pipe: weight per meter = 0.02670 * wall thickness * (outer diameter – wall thickness )
copper tube: weight per meter = 0.02796 * wall thickness * (outer diameter – wall thickness)
aluminum checker plate: weight per square meter = 2.96 * thickness
non-ferrous metal specific gravity: copper plate 8.9 brass plate 8.5 zinc plate 7.2 lead plate 11.37
The calculation formula of non-ferrous metal sheet is: weight per square meter = specific gravity * thickness

Specific gravity of stainless steel:
● 7.75 tons/M3  for
chromium stainless steel ● 7.93 tons/M3 for chromium-nickel stainless steel
● 7.87 tons/M3 for iron

General formula for weight calculation of various steel pipes (materials)

The weight of the steel pipe = 0.25 × π × (outer diameter square – inner diameter square) × L × specific gravity of steel

Among them: π = 3.14 L = steel tube length and the specific gravity of steel is 7.8 So,

Weight of steel pipe = 0.25×3.14×(outer diameter squared-inner diameter squared)×L×7.8*

If the dimension unit is in meters (M), the calculated weight results in kilograms (Kg)

The density of steel is: 7.85g/cm3
Theoretical weight of
steel calculation The unit of measure for the calculation of the theoretical weight of steel is kilograms (kg).

The basic formula is:
W (weight, kg) = F (cross-sectional area mm2) × L (length, m) × ρ (density, g/cm3) × 1/1000
