ASTM A179 “seamless cold drawn low carbon steel pipe for heat exchanger and condenser”
The A179 standard is also required for the surface smoothness of the steel pipe. A179 steel pipe is also required for the hardness of the finished products. Generally, some small steel pipe factories in China are not properly qualified due to the improper heat treatment process.

Scope of application
1. This standard applies to the most thin-walled seamless steel pipes used in tube heat exchangers, condensers and similar heat transfer devices.
2. This standard is suitable for 3.2~76.2mm steel pipe.

5. heat treatment
After the last cold drawing, the heat treatment is carried out at the temperature of less than 650 degrees C
6. hardness test
HRB 72, the requirements of sampling test for any two samples from each batch of steel pipe. (the so-called “batch” refers to the undivided steel tubes of the same diameter and wall thickness produced by the same furnace steel. 7. flatting test

Steel pipe by water pressure, if the Buyer agree to use nondestructive water pressure. The nondestructive test is based on ASTM A450.
